Helping schools learn from each other's sustainability work.
Riza is a network where schools share the sustainability projects they run, show the evidence of what worked, and pick up ideas from one another.

What I did
A lot of good sustainability work happens in schools, but it usually stays inside one school. A project that worked in one place rarely reaches the next, and students who want to start something have little to show their school that it’s worth backing. I started Riza in May 2026 to give that work somewhere to live and to travel.
I designed it and built it, using Lovable for the app and AI coding tools for the harder parts. The decisions were mine: every new account is checked by a person before it can see a school’s private space, every post is checked automatically before anyone else sees it, and every member school sits on a shared map so others can find it.
A student or teacher registers their school. Once it’s approved, the school shares the projects it’s running, posts progress and evidence along the way, and can message other schools to ask how they did something.
Outcome
Schools have started to join, and they range from state schools to some of the world’s best-known independent schools. Most of my time so far has gone into making the platform safe for a network that includes young people, before growing it.
Each school can now take a baseline assessment to see where it’s starting from. Schools can also compete in a Sustainability Cup and take part in a Mock COP run on the platform. This November, we’re taking the resolution from our Mock COP to COP31.
